la Menina by Alvaro Gracia

Avaro Gracia captures Mayka Merino in a haute couture story inspired by Velasquez’s masterpiece Las Meninas. The images are a contemporary homage to Spanish Golden Age and convey the same element of magic and mystery held in the glorious oil paintings that decorate the rooms of El Prado Museum in Mardid. Mayka‘s beauty is enhanced by daring bridal and fabulous gowns handmade in Barcelona by lorena Panea among others, which create an interesting dialogue with the incredibly detailed costumes of 17th and 18th century. Hair and make-up artist Veronika Perez turns the references drawn from the pictorical elements into a dream come true.
